THIBODAUX, La. - Colonel women's soccer head coach Cindy Piper announced the addition of two signees to the 2008 class. Michaela Gaudin and Keisha Brown (Cedar Hill HS) join the six signees who were announced in February for an eight-member incoming class for next season. Gaudin, a four-year letterwinner at East Accession High School served as team captain through her junior and senior seasons, was named First Team All-District for two-straigh years and, as a senior, was named the District Defensive MVP for 6-5A. "Michaela is a great kid who we anticipate helping us out on defense," noted Piper. "She has good speed and has the determination to shut people down." Brown is a four-year starter on her Cedar Hill High School varsity squad. Serving as captain since her sophomore campaign, Brown was named First Team Utility Player as a freshman, Co-MVP Defender as a sophomore and was the outright MVP Defender during her junior season. She has been a member of several club teams that she led to flight championships. "Keisha is a 5-10 center back who I expect to anchor our defense," added Piper. "She has a height advantage that helps her to win balls in the air and keep our defense organized." |
