THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels will play two nationally ranked teams this week in non-conference action with the first on Tuesday at No. 16 Louisiana Lafayette and the second on Wednesday at home against No. 9 LSU.

Tuesday's doubleheader in Lafayette is scheduled to have first pitch at 4 p.m. while Wednesday's lone game vs. LSU at home is slated to start for 6 p.m.

The Colonels trail in both all-time series with the Ragin Cajuns holding an 81-25 advantage while the Tigers are ahead 13-1. Nicholls did pick one win against ULL last season on Feb. 14 in Thibodaux, La. by the score of 6-1 while the last and only time the Colonels defeated the Tigers was on Feb. 14, 1998 in the Tiger Classic, 3-0.

Nicholls (7-11) will be playing the Tigers (13-4) for third time this season with LSU claiming the previous two match ups, 9-1, 9-2. The Tuesday meeting with ULL (10-3) will be the only time the two teams will face each other this season.

Leading the Colonels at the plate entering Tuesday's contest is senior Kat Harrell with a .491 average to go along with 198 career hits. Continuing to show off her power with bat is senior Amy Thibodeaux as she stands on top the league with seven homeruns and a .824 slugging percentage.
