THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls will look to continue its four-game winning streak on Saturday with a doubleheader against Houston Baptist beginning at 1 p.m. in the Colonel Softball Complex. The Colonels have won their past four games in shut out fashion, and have not allowed a run since a 3-0 loss to No. 10 LSU on March 5. Nicholls is led by senior Kat Harrell at the plate with a .479 batting average, which is also tops in the SLC heading into this weekend. Also getting it done at the plate is senior Amy Thibodeaux with a league best 10 homeruns. Thibodeaux is the only Colonel besides Harrell batting over .300 with a .324 mark in the batter's box. The circle has been getting it done for the Colonels over their four-game win streak, including Audrey Wood's four-hit shutout performance against Southern on Wednesday afternoon in Baton Rouge, La. Wood leads the team with a 2.47 ERA heading into this weekend's match up against the Huskies. Houston Baptist (14-4) currently holds a 3-1 record against Southland Conference teams this season as the Huskies took two from McNeese State (8-24) earlier in the year and split with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12-11) to open the 2008 campaign. The Huskies feature eight players batting over .300 or better and two averaging over .400 heading into their match up with the Colonels. Leading the team is Christi LeCompte with a .419 average with a squad best five doubles on the season. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m., and GameTracker will be made available for the two contests for fans who want to follow the game live statistically on the internet at www.geauxcolonels.com. #### |
