DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois' Zach Jecklin (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) was named the Mid-American Conference Co-Golfer of the Week after a season-best performance at last weekend's FirstEnergy Invitational on the home course of Kent State. Jecklin tied for second with a two-round score of 140, including a first round 69, the lowest by a Huskie golfer this season. A second-round 71 helped him earn the second-place finish that ranked as the highest placing by a NIU golfer this season. The honor was the first for Jecklin and the second for a Huskie during the 2007-08 season, joining Alex Wagner (St. Charles, Ill./East) who claimed the award on Nov. 8. Jecklin, the team's lone senior, leads Northern Illinois into this weekend's MAC Championships May 2-4 at the Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. -NIU-
