TAMPA, Fla.-The Northern Illinois University women's golf team made it a clean sweep at the 22nd Annual Snowbird Intercollegiate at Pebblecreek Country Club, posting its first victory in the event since the inaugural tournament in 1987 Friday. The Huskies also captured the individual championship when Kim Hunley (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) took first place after finishing the tourney with a 147.

"We played very well," NIU head coach Pam Tyska said. "It was a great experience. Pebblecreek Country Club has a Midwestern feel to it, with all the trees. When the rain started, I think we had an advantage over some of the other teams because we've had plenty of times to play it. It will be a nice feeling to sit for the next couple of weeks."

Once again the Huskies had three players finish under 80. Along with Hunley, Abbie Many (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Prospect) shot a second-round 73 to finish in third place after posting a 150, and Jessica Parmenter (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) shot a 79 in the second round to finish in ninth shooting 159.

Ashley Lods' (Monticello, Ind./Twin Lakes) shot an 84 in the second round to finish the event tied for 15th after shooting a 159, while Devon Harteneck (Lake City, Minn./Lincoln) rounded out the NIU competitors shooting a 175 for the tournament (85-90) to finish in 32nd.
