DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois softball freshman outfielder Andrea Colosimo (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) was named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for this past week's performance. Colosimo joins senior Michelle Nendza (Palos Park, Ill./Lemont Mt. Assisi) on the list of Huskies that received such an honor this season.

"Andi did an amazing job in the clutch this past weekend," said NIU head coach Lindsay Chouinard. "She played with an upperclassmen's maturity and has laid the foundation for a great Huskie career."

For the week of April 28 through May 4, Colosimo had the best week of her young career as she batted .583 with seven hits, collecting multiple hits in three of five games this past week and getting at least a hit in four of the games. She also had an RBI in every game and had two RBI a piece in three games for a total of eight in five games. She slugged .750 and her on-base percentage was .722. In the field, she was perfect, committing no errors on six put-outs.
