MADISON, Wis.-The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team fell to Wisconsin 7-0 Saturday Wisconsin's Nielson Tennis Stadium.

"We lost today, but I'm really excited about what this group is going to do," NIU head coach Ryun Ferrell said. "We looked pretty tough. I saw some nice flashes of brilliance. We just need to play more and I think we'll just take. It's a solid group of kids. They played tough. It was nice."

Dora Delgadillo (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Technologico de Estudios Superiores) and Jenny Edner (Stocksund, Sweden/Kamfors Gymnasiet) each played well. Edner fell to Chelsea Nusslock 6-3, 6-1, while Delgadillo lost her match 6-4, 6-2. Katie Friedlund (Parkville, Mo./Park Hill South) also had a good match, losing 7-5, 6-3 Emese Kardhordo.

The Huskies are back in action Saturday when NIU travels to Chicago to take on the University of Chicago.
