Anderson, Yahn Post NCAA Qualifying Marks

Anderson laid down his top two times of the season in the men's 110-meter hurdles, clocking in at 14.03 seconds in the preliminaries and then logging a sprint of 13.89 in the finals. That mark improves Yahn also recorded a season-best time in the women's 100-meter hurdles with her winning time of 13.91. UNI's school record-holder in the 100 hurdles, Yahn punched her ticket to regional competition in the event for the second straight season.
Senior Cali Lyons took fifth in the women's 100 hurdles with a time of 14.66, followed by teammates Jessica Hale (14.78) and Heather Kessler (15.14) in sixth and seventh place, respectively. Sophomore Wojciech Jurkowski was fifth in the men's 110 hurdles after posting a season-best time of 14.65 in the preliminaries. In the field events, Adam Pinckney led the way for UNI with a runner-up finish in the invitational section of the men's shot put, posting a throw of 51 feet, 3 inches. He also was runner-up in the invitational hammer throw with a season-best effort of 173-6. On the women's side, teammates Sarah Harms and Courtney Landers were third and fourth, respectively, in the invitational hammer throw. Harms posted a mark of 167-4, with Landers finishing just behind after a heave of 163-3. Harms also took the runner-up spot in the invitational shot put with a season-best mark of 46-9. Also for the Panthers, senior Andy Schon took seventh in the men's 1,500 meters in a time of 3:59.40. UNI now looks ahead to the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships, which begin Friday, May 16, in |
