The University of Northern Iowa football team will kick off its spring drills on Tues., April 1 and then wrap up this portion of the season with a Spring Football Fan Fest on April 26.

UNI's annual spring game will take place April 26 at 1:15 p.m. in the UNI-Dome as a part of the Spring Football Fan Fest. The day will begin with a free youth clinic (Kick Off Kids) from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The participants in the youth clinic will receive a t-shirt and a ticket to a 2008 UNI home football game.

Fans will be encouraged to tailgate as well on April 26 and the Iowa Beef Producers will be selling steak sandwiches in the UNI-Dome parking lot beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The UNI club rugby squad will play an exhibition match from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the UNI-Dome.

The day will wrap up with the Panthers' spring game with a kickoff set for 1:15 p.m. Fans will be able to meet the team and obtain autographs following the game on the field.

UNI is coming off a 12-1 season that featured a perfect 11-0 regular season. UNI was also ranked No. 1 in the country for the final six weeks of the regular season. The Panthers will open the 2008 season Aug. 30 at Brigham Young University.
