University of Northern Iowa linebacker Brannon Carter has been invited to a free agent workout with the Minnesota Vikings and will take part in the tryout on Thursday.

Carter will join fellow Panther Darian Williams in Minneapolis for the workout. Quarterback Eric Sanders headed to Detroit for a free agent workout with the Lions.

Carter was the 2007 Gateway Football Conference's Defensive Player of the Year. Carter led the league in interceptions (5) and tallied a team-high 88 stops in helping UNI to a perfect 11-0 regular season and No. 1 national ranking.
