MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Two University of Northern Iowa softball players were named to the 2008 Metrodome Softball Classic All-Tournament team.

 

Jen Larsen (Moline, Ill./Moline) and Crystal Keiper (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) were both named following the final game Sunday evening.

 

Larsen helped the Panthers to a 4-1 record this weekend, along with hitting her second career game-winning home run against Western Illinois Thursday, giving the Panthers the 4-3 lead. Larsen registered five hits and three RBIs, while scoring four runs. Larsen also recorded a 1-1 record in the circle, including one complete game performance. In two games Larsen allowed just seven hits and one run.

 

Newcomer Keiper had another solid weekend at the plate, including one double, one triple and one homerun, while registering five RBIs. Keiper had four hits and two runs herself in four games.

 

UNI finished the weekend 4-1 at the Metrodome Softball Classic, earning wins over Tennessee Tech, Western Illinois, Arkansas and Minnesota before falling to Iowa 1-0.
