TENAFLY, NJ - The NJIT men's tennis team raised it overall record to 7-2 with a convincing 6-1 win over Howard Saturday afternoon.
NJIT won five of the six singles matches and swept the doubles competition.
Anthony Tunnero and Cosmin Chiujdea teamed for an 8-2 win at first doubles against Howards' duo of Christopher Brown and Armon Murray.
Tunnero was also a winner at fourth singles 6-1, 6-1, while Chiujdea fought out a three set match topping Murray 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 at third singles.
Jonathan Lang and Steve Erickson picked up an 8-1 win for NJIT in second doubles, while Lang and Erickson claimed wins at first and second singles.
The only win for Howard came at fifth singles, won by Amato Nocera.
The Highlanders will return to action on Saturday, when they host Hartford at 8:00pm at the Tenafly Racquet Club.
