TENAFLY, NJ - NJIT's women's tennis team raised it overall record to 9-3 with a convincing 6-1 win over Manhattan Saturday night at Tenafly Racquet Club.
NJIT won five of the six singles matches and swept the three doubles matches.
Iulia Doci and Fatima Kasem teamed for an 8-5 win in first doubles against Manhattan's duo of Lindsay Keeler and Casey Conklin.
Doci also defeated Keeler in first singles 6-2, 6-4, while Kasem of the Highlanders topped Morgan Mactaggart in third singles by identical scores, 6-0, 6-0.
Isha Toor and Dasa Stanimirovic picked up an 8-1 win for NJIT in second doubles, while Toor claimed a 6-2, 6-2 victory at second singles.
The only win for Manhattan was at sixth singles, won by Molory Nguyen, 7-6, 6-4.
NJIT will return to action on Saturday, March 15 when they host Saint Francis (NY) at Tenafly Racquet Club. The match is scheduled to start at 7pm.
