Villanova/Penn Post-Game Quotes

Sept. 22, 2007

Recap |  Box Score |  Action Photos

Villanova Head Coach Andy Talley...

On Villanova's big plays: We are a big play team and that was the difference. I think we capitalized on every turnover we got.

On shutting down their running game: I think anytime you take a team's running game away from them they have to make some big plays with their passing game. I wasn't seeing any big play players on their sideline that were going to hurt us.

On the difference in the game: I think tonight the difference was that they just handed it back to us to many times and continued to give us opportunities to make big plays.

Villanova Wide Receiver Phil Atkinson...

On capitalizing on the Penn turnovers: I think it was definitely important for us to capitalize on their turnovers considering we didn't have a great first half. We demonstrated real Villanova football in the second half.

Villanova freshman John Dempsey...

On his interceptions: Coach Reardon kept preaching all game every time we came off to get to our drops and good things will happen. I dropped out to the flat and the quarterback just laid it in there.

Villanova sophomore quarterback Antwon Young...

On the game: After the turnovers we just wanted to go out there and make positive plays and stay on the field because our defense had given us that opportunity. They kept turning the ball over and we just kept saying that we have to score for our defense and put the game away.

Penn Head Coach Al Bagnoli...

On tonight's game: I'm extremely frustrated because we played a fairly good first half and then for some reason we started to turn the ball over. They didn't change anything schematically we just turned the ball over and you can't beat anybody never mind a good team on the road with that many turnovers.
