Winter Park, Fla. - The Villanova Varsity 8 boat brought home a first place finish in the Rollins Invitational at Lake Maitland on March 8, 2008. With a time of 6:41.6 the Wildcats defeated Nova Southeastern, Central Florida and Rollins in their victory.

Severe winds of +30 mph caused all other scheduled races to be cancelled. This was the first time in 17 years that the entire competition was not able to be completed.

Villanova's next event will be against Drexel in Philadelphia on March 21, 2008.
