VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Wildcats had six hits against Connecticut in game one of Saturday's doubleheader, but they could not overcome a late surge from the Huskies, as they fell 2-0.

UConn struck first in the sixth inning as the first batter reached on an error, and moved to second on a single. The Huskies took a 2-0 lead as two runners came home in the inning.

Villanova got a hit from Morese, with a single to right field, but were unable to get its offense rolling.

The Wildcats fell in game one, 2-0.
