Incoming Freshman Volleyball Player Named to Prepvolleyball.com Academic All-American Team

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Prepvolleyball.com released its 2007 High School Academic All-American list and incoming Villanova freshman Courtney Oertli was named to the fourth team. Oertli will be joining the Wildcat volleyball team in the fall of 2008 after completing her high school career.

Oertli is a senior at Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. A great athlete and the District's Setter of the Year, Oertli was First Team All-State in Class 4A after amassing 326 kills, 301 digs and 625 assists for a 37-5 team. She is a 5.47 student on a 5.0 scale and ranks fifth in her class of 320.

Oertli is a two-time winner of the South Texas Setter of the Year award. She also was named to the First Team All-State in 2007 as well as the Texas All-Star Team. She's a two-time First Team All-South Texas, All-Metro and All-District member. In 2007 she was named to the USA Volleyball A2 National Team as an alternate. She also was the captain of her club and high school teams in '05, '06 and '07.

She is one of only 40 players from around the country to receive this honor.
