EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Joe Muraski (Rothschild, Wis./D.C. Everest) of baseball and Lauren Lui (Houston, Texas/Kinkaid) of women's tennis as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Muraski tossed back-to-back complete-game shutouts, leading Northwestern to a pair of victories last week. In Tuesday's 13-0 win against Chicago State, the left-hander blanked the Cougars on five hits in five-plus innings, while striking out four without a walk.

He followed up the effort with a stellar outing Sunday in the second game of a doubleheader with Minnesota. Muraski held the Golden Gophers at bay by surrendering just two hits while tying a career high with six strikeouts in the 10-0 victory.

Lui won three singles and two doubles matches last week en route to helping the Wildcats earn their 10th-consecutive regular-season Big Ten title. Lui won in straight sets in her first two matches, before clinching a third set `superbreaker' win Sunday. Her two doubles wins included a dominating 8-1 victory at Iowa.

Lui is currently ranked No. 42 nationally in singles, and has won 16-straight matches. She is 19-0 from No. 4 this season, and has not lost from that position in her last 26 attempts. Lui is also ranked in the top 15 nationally with two doubles pairings.
