EVANSTON, Ill. -- Four Wildcats were named to the US Field Hockey High Performance Midwest Regional squad this past weekend. Freshman Sarah Marcincin (Bethlehem, Pa./Blair Academy), sophomore Courtney Plaster-Strange (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky County Day) and juniors Alex Quinn (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) and Emily Kyle (San Francisco, Calif./San Francisco University HS) will represent Northwestern on the team.

The USFHA hosts several High Performance Center Trials throughout the country during the spring. The goals of the training camps are to identify potential National Team athletes. The four 'Cats will travel to the University of Iowa on May 9-11 for another selection round. Eighteen out of the 27 girls from the Iowa training center will advance to the National Championships Tournament.

The tournament will include six regional teams from across the country and will be held on June 17-24 in Virginia Beach, Va. Some athletes from the National Championships Tournament will be selected to the U.S. Olympic Team and Junior National Team Camp.
