BRYAN, Texas -- Northwestern finished the day where it started and captured a sixth-place finish at the 15th Annual Texas A&M "Mo"Morial. The Wildcats shot a 980 for the tournament and rallied from seventh early in the third round to overtake Iowa State, defeating the Cyclones by 10 strokes.

Freshman Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) came through with a solid outing for Northwestern, putting together a three-round score of 79-80-80, good enough for a 14th-place tie, the highest finish of her collegiate career. Junior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) enjoyed a solid weekend as well for the `Cats, finishing in 23rd-place, five strokes back of Lindenschmidt.

Senior Katie Trachok (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) finished third for Northwestern with a three-round total of 250, while senior Brittany Johnston (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) had a big final round for NU, shooting a weekend-best 77 to finish at 255 for the weekend in a tie with freshman teammate Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central).

Michigan State captured the 2008 "Mo"morial championship, shooting 931 for the weekend and defeating Denver by nine strokes. Tulsa finished third at 956 while Kent State and the host Aggies tied for fourth at 962. The Spartans' Sara Brown captured the individual title, finishing the tournament at +5.

Up next for the Wildcats is a trip to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Mountain View Collegiate Tournament March 29-30.
