2008 Indiana Invitational Final Results (PDF)

CARMEL, Ind. -- Northwestern shot a combined 313 in the final round of the 2008 Indiana Invitational to finish the two-day event in ninth-place. NU put together a three-round total of 298-308-313 to finish with a 55-over 919 for the tournament.

Junior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) was the top Wildcat finisher for the fifth time this season, shooting a 12-over 228 (72-74-82) to finish 28th in the individual standings. Freshman Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) shot a team-best 74 in the final round to finish at 14-over and in a tie for 30th-place overall. It marks the second time Lederhausen has been the NU runner-up at an event this season.

Senior Brittany Johnston (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) finished a stroke behind Lederhausen, firing a 15-over 231 (74-77-80) to place 33rd. Senior Katie Trachok (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) finished at 17-over while freshman Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio) was two strokes behind, finishing 45th.

Sixth-ranked Purdue dominated the Invitational from the opening hole, defeating second-place Ohio State by 42 strokes and finishing at 12-under par for the tournament. Boilermaker Junthima Gulyanamitta won the individual title at seven-under par, four strokes better than teammates Maude-Aimee Leblanc and Maria Hernandez at three-under. Illinois finished third at 34-over, followed by Texas (+35) and UNLV (+36).
 

 

Northwestern is off until the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, on April 19-20. The Wildcats placed sixth at the event last season and it will be the final tune-up before the Big Ten Championships April 25-27 in University Park, Pa.
