EVANSTON, Ill. -- Sophomore Lauren Delaney (Jefferson City, Mo./Helias) has won her third Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor of the year and the sixth of her career after throwing 35 conference innings for the Wildcats over the weekend.

Delaney kicked things off with a 14-inning complete game effort in a marathon 1-0 victory at Penn State Friday, striking out a career-best 18 in the game. She also earned the victory in a hard-fought contest on Saturday.

Delaney then fanned 12 Wolverines en route to a 2-1 win over No. 6 Michigan in the first game of a Sunday doubleheader in Ann Arbor. In game two she held UM scoreless until the seventh inning -- her 35th in three days -- where the Wolverines finally broke through for a 3-2 win.

Northwestern has won six conference Player or Pitcher of the Week awards this season.
