The Ohio University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is proud to announce the results of its recent shoe collection drive.  The "MAC Mile Connect your Kicks" shoe drive was put on by the SAAC's in every Mid-American Conference school as a joint effort. 

The Ohio student-athletes collected shoes from the beginning of March through the first week of April.  Ohio students, staff, faculty, and a large amount of community members all pitched in to help make this drive one of the most successful community service projects in Ohio Athletics history.  The drive was led by the superior efforts of the SAAC officers, reflecting the mission of the Ohio Athletics CHAMPS/Life Skills Program's commitment to service.

The Ohio SAAC will send 1,036 pairs of shoes to the "Share Your Soles" network.  The shoes will make the long journey to Africa and be dispersed amongst those in need.  Ohio Athletics and SAAC would like to extend its sincerest appreciation to the many campus and community members that contributed to the success of the shoe drive.
