Meet Schedule

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio women's track team will head to Findlay, Ohio to compete in the All-Ohio Championships hosted by the University of Findlay. The meet will span both Friday and Saturday at will be held at the Malcolm Athletic Center, a part of the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.

 

The Bobcats will join every Division I and Division II track and field team from the state of Ohio at the event except for Kent State and Akron. Ohio State will send only its women's team to the two day meet. Competitors from the MAC include Ohio, Toledo, Bowling Green and Miami.


 

 

 

Head coach Clay Calkins and assistant coaches Nick Pero and Mitch Bentley will use this meet as one of the final two tune-ups before the MAC Championships on Feb. 29-March 1.

 

The All-Ohio Championships is also held in cross country and this season the men's team finished third while the women's team took second.

 

The Bobcat women have consistently improved upon individual and season best times this season, with Brittany Vinson and Christen Bosch setting season-best marks last weekend at the BGSU Quadrangular in the long jump and pole vault, respectively.

 

Many of the competitors at the All-Ohio Championships will be familiar to the Bobcats as Ohio has competed against Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami, Youngstown State, Ohio State and many other Ohio schools already this season.

 

In those meets so far in 2008, the Bobcats have earned 14 first place finishes and set one new school record, with Jessie Tanner setting the program best mark in the weight throw with a toss of 55 feet, 7.50 inches.

 

Ohio will have one more meet to prepare for the MAC Championships, heading to the Zips Invite next weekend at Akron. The MAC Championships will be hosted by Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Mich.
