ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio track and field team will battle for state bragging rights on Friday and Saturday when the Bobcats compete in the All-Ohio Championships in Cincinnati.

The event, hosted by the University of Cincinnati at Gettler Stadium and Coy Field, will feature schools from all around the state of Ohio, including the Bobcats' in-state MAC foes - Akron, Miami, Bowling Green, Kent State and Toledo. Also competing at the All-Ohio Championships will be Ohio State, Findlay, Dayton, Wright State, Tiffin, Central State, Ashland and Xavier.

Ohio will look for another strong performance from their throwers as it looks to improve upon its sixth place showing at the indoor All-Ohio Championships in February at Findlay.

Last weekend at the Miami Team Challenge in Oxford, Ohio, the Bobcat throwers scored 53 of Ohio's 80 total team points. Emily Amendola (Beach City, Ohio), Jessie Tanner (Newark, Ohio) and Bahiyjaui Allen (Sylvania, Ohio) combined to place nine times with Tanner earning four herself.

Thus far in the season, the Bobcats earned a fourth place showing at the Miami Team Challenge and took fourth previously at the Southern Ohio Cup, also in Oxford, Ohio. The Duke Invitational on April 5 was not team scored.

All 21 NCAA sanctioned track and field events will be held at the All-Ohio Championships, including the heptathlon and the 10,000 meters.

On Friday the heptathlon, steeplechase, 10,000 meters, 5,000 meters and throwing events will be held with sprints and intermediate distances held on Saturday.
