ATHENS, Ohio-Frankie Dobbs, a 6'3 guard from St. Edward High School, has signed on as the newest member of the Ohio men's basketball program, head coach Tim O'Shea announced Friday.

Dobbs, a point guard, was the third-leading scorer on the squad last season and led the team in assists and free throw shooting. He was selected second-team by the Cleveland Plain Dealer and was named an all-star by the All-Sun Newspaper.

A two-year varsity starter, Dobbs led St. Edward to a 47-5 mark over the past two seasons and averaged 10 points and 10 assists, while sporting a 4-1 assist-to-turnover ratio as a senior. He also shot 47 percent from the field, 39 percent from the 3-point line and 84 percent from the free throw line.

As a junior, Dobbs earned honorable mention honors from the Cleveland Plain Dealer for the second-straight year, while being named an all-star by the All-Sun Newspaper.

Dobbs has had success in the AAU circuit as well, leading his King of the Court squad to championships in the Fort Wayne and Solon Classic Tournaments. The team also finished as the runner-up in the AAU Nationals in Orlando, fourth at the Hoosier Shootout in Indianapolis and eighth in Las Vegas. He was also tabbed as a Big Game All-Star at the Eastern Invitational Camp.

O'Shea and the Bobcats notched the program's 11th 20-win season during the 2007-08 campaign.
