Final Results

RAVENNA, Ohio-The Ohio men's golf team finished sixth at the FirstEnergy Intercollegiate, which was hosted by Kent State Saturday afternoon.

 

The Bobcats shot a two-round total of 737 (367-370), 25 shots behind the Golden Flashes who fired a total of 712 (350-362) on the par-70, 6,936 yard course.

 

Junior James Ellis (McMurray, Pa.) finished with a total of 143 (68-75) to lead the Bobcats. Sophomores Tim Gusweiler (74-73, Loveland, Ohio) and Chad Warmbein (75-74, McMurray, Pa.) followed with scores of 147 and 149 and were just ahead of freshman Mark Reinhold (81-70, Cincinnati, Ohio) and senior Mark Phillips (76-78, Hilliard, Ohio) who posted scores of 151 and 154. Sophomore Stewart Jamieson (74-84, Worthington, Ohio) rounded out the team with a total of 158.


 

 

 

Ellis and Gusweiler tied for third in the tournament's par 3 scoring (3.00, even par). As a team, Ohio finished fourth in par 3 scoring at 3.19 (+9).  

 

Cleveland State's Jacob Scott was the runaway winner by six strokes with a six-under total of 134 (69-65).

 

The Bobcats will be back in action Friday at the MAC Championship (Longerburger Golf Club) in Heath, Ohio.
