Day 1 Results

RICHMOND, Ky.-The Ohio women's golf team stands seventh after Day 1 of the EKU Spring Invitational with a Friday round of 327 (+39) on the par 72, 5,817 yard course.

 

Eastern Michigan is the overall tournament leader with a 15-over total of 303.

 

Freshman Erin Cahill (Hilliard, Ohio) led the Bobcats with a six-over 78, while senior Katie Stafford (Phoenix, Az.) posted an 80 and sophomore Lauren Bergman (Blacklick, Pa.) had an 84. Sophomore Megan Curran (Dublin, Ohio) and junior Lindsay Bergman (Blacklick, Pa.) checked in with 85s, while Colleen Linesch (Centerville, Ohio) carded an 88.


 

 

 

EMU's Catherine Fortin and Stephany Fleet are tied with Winthrop's Jutta Degerman at one-over 73 for the tournament's top individual honors.

 

Curran is tied for second in the tournament in par 3 scoring (3.00), while Stafford is tied for second in par 4 scoring (4.30). Cahill's 12 pars were also just one off the pace.

 

The tournament will be shortened to just 36 holes with the final round starting Saturday at 9 a.m.
