ATHENS, Ohio-The Ohio women's golf program has announced that twins Megan and Meryl Weaver  of Canton, Ohio will join the squad next season.

"We are very pleased that Megan and Meryl have decided to play golf at Ohio University," said Ohio coach Jeff Hetler. "They are both excellent students, proven players on the golf course and we expect them to make an immediate impact on the team next fall. The twin sisters work very hard on their games, resulting in lower scores on the course.

The duo provided the driving force behind their Perry High School team, with Megan earning Federal League and Stark County Player of the Year honors in 2006 and 2007. She was also named All-Northeast Ohio and finished 16th at the Ohio state tournament.
