ATHENS, Ohio - Senior outfielder Kim Hamilton scored the lone run of the game to lead Kent State to a 1-0 win over Ohio Sunday afternoon at the Ohio Softball Field.

The loss leaves the Bobcats, 15-14 overall and 3-5 in the MAC, while the Golden Flashes improve to 24-8, 7-1 MAC.

Hamilton's run in the top of the first would be the game-winner, as both teams went scoreless in the last six innings.

The rest of the game was dominated by pitchers, with Ohio's Michelle Sauter (Chehalis, Wash.) striking out five batters and Kent State's Kylie Reynolds striking out nine.

Ohio finished the game with three hits and three errors, and Kent State tallied a run, four hits and zero errors. Seniors Courtney Waters (Eagle River, Alaska), Alicia Catlette (Mogadore, Ohio), and Amanda Sacks (Chugiak, Alaska) had a hit apiece for the Bobcats. Lauren Brocklehurst led the Golden Flashes with two hits.

The Bobcats will return to action Wednesday in a doubleheader against Marshall in Huntington, W.Va.
