AKRON, Ohio - In a grueling 10-inning battle, the Ohio softball team scored two runs in the bottom of the tenth to defeat Bowling Green, 2-1, for its first-ever appearance in the MAC Championship Game.

The Bobcats will face Kent State at 3:30 p.m. for the MAC title.

Bowling Green scored one run in its half of the tenth inning to be first on the scoreboard, but the Bobcats quickly tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the tenth as senior Alicia Catlette (Mogadore, Ohio) was sent home on an RBI single by senior Courtney Waters (Eagle River, Alaska). Waters then sealed the win and scored on an RBI single to left field by sophomore Shalene Petrich (Chehalis, Wash.).
