ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio softball team will head to Michigan this weekend for a doubleheader against Central Michigan on Saturday, April 18 and a two-game series against Eastern Michigan on April 19th and 20th.

A Look at the 'Cats (18-15, 5-5 MAC)
The Ohio Bobcats are fourth in the MAC East Division. The `Cats are also fourth in the conference batting .275 on the year. Five players are batting above .300 on the year, led by freshman Melissa Bonner at .318 (21-for-66).

Freshman Emily Wethington hit her team-best fourth home run last weekend. Wethington has a .315 batting average on the season and totals 23 hits, 11 runs and 12 RBI on the season. Sophomore Deanna Hartsough hit the first home run of her career last weekend, it was also her first career run. Hartsough is fourth on the team with a .308 batting average. She has 20 hits on the year, including three doubles and eight RBI.

Senior Courtney Waters tops the Bobcat statistics with 26 runs scored, a .419 on-base percentage, 33 hits, five doubles, 43 total bases and 17 walks.

Go Shay-Shay, Shay, Shay
After nabbing 29 stolen bases in her rookie campaign, sophomore Shalene Petrich continues to move up the list of best base-thieves in program history. Petrich is leading the team with 11 steals, which brings her career total to 40 and advances her two spots in the record book to No. 5. Petrich has a .304 batting average and 31 hits. She has scored 12 runs, has walked five times and has batted in nine runners.
 

 

Seniority
With the most innings pitched of any Bobcat player in the last seven years (597), senior Michelle Sauter needs only four more wins in the circle to set a new all-time record.
