ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Head Volleyball Coach Ryan Theis has announced Meghan Keck will join the Ohio volleyball staff as an assistant coach. Keck completes Theis' coaching staff at Ohio, as she will serve as the recruiting and travel coordinator for the Bobcats and work with setter training and development.

"I am really excited to be joining the Ohio staff and to have the opportunity to work with this group of girls and the players coming in next year," said Keck. "It is a great group and I think they will be a lot of fun to work with."

Keck comes to Ohio after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at DePaul University. While at DePaul Keck served as the Blue Demons recruiting and travel coordinator and specialized with working with the team's setters.

"The setters here at Ohio are already at a high level now, but I'm looking forward to getting started and helping them become even better," said Keck.

Prior to joining the DePaul coaching staff, Keck was a volunteer assistant at Northwestern University in 2005, where she helped lead the Wildcats to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

"We are very excited that Meghan is joining the Ohio volleyball family," said Theis. "She has a tremendous work ethic, is extremely organized, and comes in with a great deal of on court experience, especially in setter training and development."

Keck's coaching experience also extends to the club ranks, where she served as the team coach, private lessons director and co-director of setter training for the Lions/First Alliance Volleyball Club in Western Springs from 1998-2006.

During Keck's collegiate career she spent two years as Auburn's starting setter and team captain before transferring to Illinois-Chicago in 2002. Keck had an immediate impact with the Flames as she was named the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year in 2002. She also set UIC's single-match hitting percentage record (.900), is ranked third on the school's all-time attack percentage list and is ranked sixth in total assists.

In 2004, Keck was named the UIC Female Athlete of the Year and was awarded the NCAA Sportsmanship Award.

Keck was an academic standout at Auburn and UIC as she graduated with a 3.9 GPA and a degree marketing in 2004.
