2007 NCAA Volleyball Tournament Bracket

ATHENS, Ohio -The No. 19 Ohio volleyball team has been selected as a host school for the first and second round of the 2007 NCAA Volleyball Championship.

The Bobcats (26-5), making their fifth-straight tournament appearance, will play host to Cal Poly (21-7), Xavier (24-10) and Purdue (18-13) at the Convocation Center in the opening rounds of the Stanford, California Regional.

Ohio will face Purdue in the first round on Friday, Nov. 30, at 7:30 p.m. and Cal Poly, the No. 16 overall seed in the field will face Xavier in the first match of the day at 5:30 p.m. The winner of each match will play in the second round, which is slated for Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Convocation Center.

Second Round - Saturday
Winner of match 1 vs. Winner of match 2 - 5:30 p.m.

Stanford (27-2) is the top seed in the region and the overall No. 1 seed in the tournament. Rounding out the top four seeds in the tournament are No. 2 Nebraska (27-1), No. 3 Penn State (28-2) and No. 4 Texas (24-3).

The Bobcats were selected by the NCAA volleyball selection committee as an at-large team for the first time in the history of the program. Ohio made its previous four trips to the big dance after winning the MAC Tournament and receiving the conference's automatic bid. This is the first time the Ohio volleyball team has hosted an NCAA Tournament match.

Last season Ohio lost in the first round to Kentucky 3-2. The school's best run in the tournament came in 2005, when the Bobcats advanced to the Sweet Sixteen, where they lost to Arizona 3-2.
