NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion University athletic department has announced the addition of two athletic trainers to the staff.
Synthia Goode returns to her alma mater as an assistant athletic trainer, with primary responsibilities for the nationally ranked Lady Monarch women's basketball program, as well as assisting with Old Dominion's other varsity sports. She served the past two years as an assistant trainer at Appalachian State University working with the women's basketball and cheerleading squads. Goode also served as an exercise specialist and athletic trainer at Menchville High School in Newport News, VA during the 2005-06 academic year. Goode received both a B.S. in exercise science and a Master's in Education from Old Dominion.
Nathan J. Miker joins the staff as an athletic trainer, with primary responsibilities for assisting with the football program. He served as an assistant trainer at Georgia Southern this past year and has previous experience on the athletic training staff for the Cleveland Browns. Mike also worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Virginia Tech football program. Nathan earned a B.S. in athletic training from Mount Union College and a Masters of Education degree from Virginia Tech.
