GENEVA, N.Y. -- The ODU Monarchs sailing team finished with a 7th place effort overall at the America Trophy Regatta this weekend, behind a 5th place effort in A division. Sophomore skipper Kyle Rogachenko teamed with junior crew Alissa Ayres and sophomore Mike Komar for the top five finish in A division, finishing with 103 total points in 14 completed races.

The A division boat finished with seven top five finishes during the regatta and had a high of second place once. The 103 total points in the division was just five points behind the fourth place UPenn team.

In B division, ODU finished with just 96 total points in a 9th place finish. Junior skipper Michael Brown sailed with junior crew Jaclyn Finney and sophomores Mike Komar and John Shockey. The group finished with 13 top tens in the 14 completed races. They had two second place finishes on the weekend.

The two boats combined for 199 total points, just 14 points out of the a team top five finish. The team was receiving votes in the Sailing World college rankings for the first time of the season this week.
