NORFOLK, VA--Bradley Logan's two-out three-run homer in the top of the ninth lifted the Panthers of Georgia State (31-21/11-15) to a 5-4 Colonial Athletic Association win over Old Dominion (23-23/13-12) Sunday afternoon.

ODU took a 4-2 lead into the ninth when the Panthers Jean Michael Rochon-Salvas and Chase Childers got back-to-back two out singles. Bradley then homered to center to give the Panthers the 5-4 lead.

Georgia State relief pitcher Bobby Bennett then retired the Monarchs in order to pick up his second win of the season. ODU's Ryan Bergh, who ranks second in the CAA in ERA pitched nine innings, allowing 12 hits, four walks and three strikeouts. Georgia State starter Drew Grant retired ODU in order until Chris Keenan singled in the third with two outs.

ODU tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth when Gerard Hall doubled home Jake McAloose. Chris Keenan's sacrifice fly plated Hall from third. In the sixth inning Max Most homer to rightfield to give ODU a 3-2 lead and in the seventh Jimmy Miles singled to score Chris Keenan.

Max Most and Chris Keenan each had two hits for ODU on the day, while Georgia State was led by Rochon-Salvas and Matt van Horn with three hits each. GSU has 12 hits on the day.
 

 

ODU finishes its home stand Tuesday with a doubleheader. The Monarchs host Richmond at 2:30, then Delaware State at 7 p.m. ODU then travels to #29 UNC Wilmington for the final regular season CAA series.
