LOS ANGELES - Bailey Mosier (Las Vegas, NV.), a recent graduate and golfer from Old Dominion University who plans to pursue her Master's of Mass Communication (MMC) at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University this fall was selected as one of 36 students throughout the nation as a 2008 recipient of THE LAGRANT FOUNDATION (TLF) scholarship. In celebration of its 10th Anniversary, THE LAGRANT FOUNDATION (TLF) awarded a quarter of a million dollars ($250,000) in scholarships to ethnic minority undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in advertising, marketing and public relations.

"The most special "feather in my headdress" that I have worn in college at Old Dominion University and that I will carry with me into graduate studies at Arizona State University is being a part of The Lagrant Foundation family. Kim Hunter, the Board members, and the Foundation's sponsors have bestowed upon me immense and immeasurable impact through the Foundation's scholarship funding program," says Mosier.

Last week, Mosier was selected to the All-American Scholar Golf team as selected by the National Golf Coaches Association.

Mosier is the 2008 recipient of the Jack Wilkins/James Howard Female Scholar Athlete of the Year Award. She represented ODU in 2007 and 2008 on USA TODAY'S "Best and Brightest," as well as being selected a finalist for the prestigious 2008 Kaufman Prize. She is also a three-time selection to the CAA's Commissioner's Academic team.

Mosier compiled a 83.2 stroke average for the Lady Monarchs, placing 13th at the El Diablo tournament and 19th at the ODU Invitational. She graduated in May with a 3.87 grade point average in communications

The scholarships were awarded to 22 undergraduate students in the amount of $5,000 and 11 graduate students in the amount of $10,000. This year, TLF held two Scholarship Recognition Receptions and Awards Programs, one in Los Angeles on Monday, June 2, and one in New York City on Monday, June 9. The students were presented with their scholarships and were recognized for their academic pursuits in the fields of advertising, marketing or public relations.

"I am very proud of Bailey and the rest of the 2008 scholarship recipients," said Founder/Chairman of TLF, Mr. Kim L. Hunter. "It is rewarding to see the their achievements and contributions to help diversify the communications industry."
