Undergraduate Assistant Coach

A three-year letterwinner for Oregon State, Jared Norris is in his first season as an undergraduate assistant coach for the Beavers.

Norris played in 156 games for the Beavers from 2009-11, starting in 110. He played both first base and right field for Oregon State, helping the team to NCAA Regionals berths each season and the 2011 club advanced to the Nashville Super Regional.

Norris batted .284 during his career, finishing with 16 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 72 runs batted in. He walked 81 times and struck out 82 while posting an on-base percentage of .410 and a fielding percentage of .985.

Norris, a native of Urbandale, Iowa, had his best season statisically in 2009, his sophomore campaign and first year with Oregon State. He drove in 36 and batted .331 with four doubles and three home runs. He was named an All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention selection after the season.

He came to Corvallis after one season at Yavapai College in Arizona. With Yavapai, he batted .300 with 23 doubles, two home runs and 41 RBI.

He earned All-State honors three times while at Urbandale High School. He batted .493 with 13 home runs and 50 RBI as a senior, earning State Player of the Year honors.
