2010



Whitney was a key component of the vault lineup again in 2010 ... in addition, she competed as part of the bars lineup eight times and had three other exhibitions ... set season-highs of 9.825 on vault at Ohio State and 9.80 on bars at the season opening Salbasgeon Suites Invitational ... "hit" 17 out of 21 routines ... earned Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team ... graduated with a degree in Graphic Design.


2009


Whitney became a mainstay in the vault lineup in 2009 ... "hit" all 13 of her vaults and scored 9.75 or better 10 times ... nailed a career-best vault (9.875) at the Pac-10 Championships ... set a career-high on beam against California and Arkansas with a 9.675 ... "hit" 16 out of 18 routines ... earned Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention.


2008


Whitney took several major strides going into her sophomore season earning the alternate role on the uneven bars ... stepped into the lineup a teammate was scratched at Arizona State (fourth meet of the season) ... never relinquished her spot and remained in the lineup through the rest of the season ... "hit" all 12 of her routines in '08, 11 on bars and one on vault ... scored a career-best 9.825 on bars twice; against BYU and at UCLA ... earned Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention.


2007


Whitney provided depth on three events as a freshman ... performed exhibitions on vault eight times, bars twice and beam once ... led off the vault lineup at Washington and scored a 9.650, her only official routine of the season.


Pre-Oregon State


Placed sixth on vault, and fourth on beam at the 2004 Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals ... was the 2004 Level 10 California State Champion ... trained at Wildfire Gymnastics ... competed with a couple Division-I gymnasts at her club, Allyse Ishino (Stanford) and former Oregon State gymnast Cassandra Rowell.


Personal


Born in Orange, Calif. ... daughter of Wendy and Rick Watson ... has a younger sister, Hayley, who is a sophomore at OSU ... her uncle, Jim Watson, is a play-by-play announcer for FSN ... majoring in Graphic Design ... chose to attend Oregon State because of "the support of the school for the gymnastics program, the awesome coaching staff and the wonderful group of girls on the team."
