We ended up getting swept by Fullerton last weekend. We played well in the first half of Friday and Saturday's games, but fell apart in the later innings of each game to suffer a couple of tough losses. Both Waldron and McCain did a good job battling and keeping us close enough to have a chance to compete. Fuson and McKeever hit back to back home runs on Friday night, both to left field. On Sunday, Joey Centanni pitched very well going eight innings allowing just two earned runs. Once again our offense struggled and we couldn't get the hits we needed in key situations down the stretch to lose 2-1. The parents had another great BBQ after Sunday's game and all of us players appreciated the effort the parents put into it and the delicious food they brought for us.

Monday, we spent the day in Lodi at Woodbridge Country Club doing our fourth annual golf tournament fundraiser. The weather was sunny, but a little chilly with the wind blowing. Bobby Wheeler had the big shot of the day getting a hole in one and a good chunk of change in his pocket for it. This week in practice we focused a lot on individual skills to prepare for this weekend as we will be traveling down to Long Beach to take on the No. 23 Dirtbags. FYI, the Dirtbags got their nickname because they had an all dirt practice infield next to their game field where the coach would take all of the infielders during practice and make them dive for balls all over during their workout. They would then return to practice with the rest of the team being completely covered in dirt, hence the nickname Dirtbags came about. The rest of the athletics teams at Long Beach use the mascot: the 49ers.

Next week we will be taking on USF at home on Tuesday night at 6 PM under the lights. Whope to see you out at Klein Family Field on Tuesday night! Be sure to check out the Q&A with Senior Isaac Kamai which was posted earlier this week on the website.
