Pacific's Aljaz Ojstersek Finishes 45th at FINA World Open Water Championships

Stockton, Calif.- Pacific men's swimmer Aljaz Ojstersek (Kvanj, Slovenia) finished 45th at the FINA World Open Water Championships in Seville, Spain on Sunday, May 4. Aljaz finished the 10K event with a time of 2:04:38.1, 11:17.1 behind Vladimiir Dyatchin of Russia.

The FINA World Open Water Championships is an Olympic Qualifying event that features swimmers from all over the world. The contest is a 10,000 meter open water competition of which the top 10 finalists earned 2008 Beijing Olympic bids for their respective countries.

Ojstersek completed his first year of eligibility at Pacific in 2007-08.
