This Week, Pacific Playing For The Four Seed Against UC Riverside:
With a single game remaining in the Big West regular season the Tigers are in a position no one outside of the program thought they would be in. Facing off against UC Riverside on Saturday, the Tigers are one win away from securing the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Big West tournament and the first round bye that comes along with such a ranking. Since the beginning of the current tournament format, the Tigers have never had a first round bye, but with a win will secure the all important spot among the top four in the conference. Pacific's quest will not be easy as they face off with the defending champion Highlanders (UC Santa Barbara has already captured this season's title) who defeated the Tigers 83-61 on Jan. 2 to open conference play. However, Pacific is riding a hot streak in which they have knocked off both Cal Poly and UC Davis in recent weeks and have won four of their last five contests.
