Conference is here! This is a second beginning for us, a clean slate. Not very many times in the middle of something can you start a new. It's an opportunity to begin again, and not very many times in softball or life can you get this chance. We are excited for it!

We opened conference at home against Northridge. Saturday was a tough day for us, and once again things didn't seem to go our way. We had a lot of runners on base throughout both of the games, but we never were able to connect with hits while those runners were on and score them. We didn't find our rhythm that day, and it was frustrating starting conference with two losses. One of the great things about conference is that we play each team three times, so on Sunday we got another chance to play them again. We didn't let that chance go to waste and beat them 6-2. The team went kind of crazy on Sunday and we had a lot of fun playing and being together.

At Pacific we have spirit competitions between all of the athletic teams. On Sunday it was a competition between the field hockey team and the men's water polo team. We had so many fans! Both teams did a great job cheering for us and making signs, it was so much fun. The water polo team brought a slip and slide to the game too, even though it was a bit cold they still enjoyed it!

Sunday night Lauren Sandelin's grandparents made the whole team dinner at our house, which was amazing! We had fried chicken, potato salad, and pasta salad with shrimp, rolls and chocolate cake! The team had a great time hanging out together and of course, eating some good food!

That wraps up our first conference series, we play Nevada this Thursday at home and then we play Davis at home this weekend. Come and watch if you can! Have a great week!
