Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's swimming team were outlasted by Big West Conference rival UC Santa Barbara, 136.5-125.5 in the Tigers final home meet of the season on Saturday, Feb. 2.

A back-and-forth battle between the Tigers and Gauchos was settled in the final two events as the Tigers held a two point lead entering the 11th event, the 200 Fly, and trailed by two points entering the 14th and final event, the 200 Free Relay.

Unfortunately Pacific could not slip past the Gauchos as UC Santa Barbara claimed the 200 Free Relay and the meet.

The Tigers and Gauchos split the 14 events as each team won seven events, but UC Santa Barbara won out with their depth.

After falling the 200 Medley Relay, Pacific nabbed the next five events, including the 100 Back, where junior Jun Huang (Guangzhou, China) earned the first of two individual victories with a time of 56.77. Huang also capped her afternoon with the Tigers' next individual victory, three events later, in the 200 Back. Her time of 2:00.96 was over four seconds faster than second place.

Senior Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) also earned two individual victories for the Tigers, nabbing the 200 Free (1:52.25) and the 400 IM (4:25.22).

The Tigers return to the pool on Wednesday, Feb. 20 as Pacific begins the four-day Big West Championships in Long Beach, Calif.
