Huntington Beach, Calif.- The Pacific women's volleyball team took part in the First Annual Big West Beach Tournament on Sat. April 19th at the Huntington Beach Pier.

Pacific was represeneted by Kara Uhl (Cypress, Calif.) and Svenja Engelhardt (Sinsheim, Germany). The tournament consisted of teams of two, with each Big West Conference school participating. Matches were two out of three games in the morning pool play, then a six team, single elimination championship braket in the afternoon.

Uhl and Engelhardt breezed through the morning pool play and advanced to the playoffs where they reached the championship match. The duo fell to Kari Pestolesi and Devon Sutherland of UC Irvine in the title game, despite a strong showing on the sand.

Pacific will return to the beach next year in hopes of earning their first title.
