Lafayette Student-Athlete Day Photo Gallery
This year marked the 21st annual celebration of National Student-Athlete Day, which was officially designated as April 6. National Student-Athlete Day is a day set aside to honor student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics and athletics, while having made significant contributions to their schools and communities. Two of the Patriot League's schools held a student-athlete day or event during the month of May.
Army held its first-ever Black Knight Awards on May 28 which consisted of a BBQ dinner and awards ceremony. Recognition was given out in the following areas: All-Americans, Scholar Athletes, Patriot League Champions, Army Team of the Year, Army Coaching Staff of the Year, Mr. and Ms. Black Knight, Army Play of the Year, Army Performance of the Year and Army Rookie of the Year.
Lafayette conducted its student-athlete day on May 4. The Lafayette student-athlete advisory committee sponsored a cook-out with members of the football team manning the grill. Approximately 170 student athletes participated in the following activities: three-legged race, egg toss competition, pie eating and tug of war.
