Ashley Harbin has set two throwing records at Lafayette College and became the school's first female qualifier for both the NCAA Division I indoor and outdoor track and field championships. Still, she doesn't consider herself a trendsetter.
''It's exciting to go to these competitions and compete with the best, but I don't feel like I'm doing anything special,'' Harbin said. ''I'm just doing what I do every day.''
Harbin, a senior, will compete in the 20-pound throw today at the NCAA Division I indoor championships in Fayetteville, Ark. She qualified in February, when she broke the school record (and achieved the NCAA provisional standard) with a throw of 66 feet, 21/4 inches.
