Center Valley, Pa. - The Patriot League Baseball Championship series between Bucknell and Navy will now be played on Friday and Saturday in Annapolis because of graduation ceremonies at Bucknell on Sunday.
The best-of-three series will open up with game one on Friday at 3 p.m. The second game will begin at Noon on Saturday, with game three (if necessary) scheduled to start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two. The series was originally scheduled to feature a doubleheader on Saturday and single game on Sunday.
Bucknell, the No. 4 seed in the field, advanced to the Championship round by winning at No. 1 seed Army, 1-0, on Sunday to take two of three games in the semifinal series. No. 2 seed Navy took two out of three at home against No. 3 Holy Cross, advancing to the Championship with a 9-5 victory in Sunday's decisive game three.
The Bison will go in search of their fourth overall Patriot League title, and first since they defeated Navy in 2003. The Mids are trying to add to their League-best five titles, and earn their first crown since 2002. Navy is also hosting its first Championship series since it last won the title.
Bucknell and Navy split their four games when they met in Lewisburg from April 19-21.
