Darren Mastropaolo is known for scoring big on the basketball court, but for the past year, he's been scoring gigs in the Susquehanna Valley by singing and playing guitar.
Mastropaolo, 21, a senior on Bucknell's basketball team, somehow finds time to practice guitar and perform. The Falmouth, Maine, native first picked up a guitar when he was a sophomore in high school and has been playing ever since.
Though busy with basketball since the moment he arrived at Bucknell four years ago, Mastropaolo honed his skills as both a guitar player and pianist by minoring in music at the university. He's taken guitar and piano lessons on campus and then began performing at local cafes and shops earlier this year.
Mastropaolo played at the Gingerbread House store in Lewisburg during the winter festival and at 7th Street Cafe and the Uptown student nightclub on Bucknell's campus. Later this year, he will perform at Brasserie Louis restaurant in Lewisburg.
But after playing on the basketball court in front of huge crowds, does he still get stage-fright?
